     The Artisans of       Annunciation Monastery

                      January 3 - 27, 2023

The art of the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery, Bismarck, is being displayed as the sisters celebrate their 75th anniversary as an independent monastic community in this region. They established education and healthcare in Dakota Territory and brought with them deep faith and a commitment to serving God’s people.

This art exhibit showcases the sisters’ art through the years. From paintings to pottery, from art quilts to metal sculptures, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

The Member Artist is Sally Storslee.  Sally’s true love has always been art.  From the time she was a little girl, touching a pack on new crayons, or looking through sheets of colored paper brought a sense of possibility.  She developed her love of art through classes and personal trial and error.  Her work is primarily done in acrylic and reflects the environment around her realistically.

For more information on this exhibit click here.

An opening reception is planned for January 6 from 5-7 pm.  Free and open to the public.

Sponsor for this exhibit is Marcia Sickler with additional support from the ND Council on the Arts and the Tom & Frances Leach Foundation.

Deana Novak “Jack of All” This exhibit features many
different mediums and subject. The artist has managed
to put who she is into each piece. “As humans we have
layers, feeling, and fickleness. Allowing myself to shift
from medium to medium
, piece to piece, encourages self-discovery of each distinct part of my personality.”

This exhibition is sponsored by the North Dakota Gallery Association with support from the ND Council on the Arts which receives funding from the State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Member artist is Jacqueline Binstock who paints in a
variety of mediums, including acrylic, watercolor and
pastel. This exhibit will primarily feature her landscapes and beautiful florals.

Funding for this exhibition comes from Peter & Ruth Woodrow and the Tom & Frances Leach Foundation.

Giving Hearts Day is Thursday, February 9

Bismarck Art & Galleries Association is participating in Giving Hearts Day again this year. It’s an amazing 24-hour fundraising event, that helps non-profits throughout the region, in a BIG way.

This year, the project we are hoping to fund is NEW FLOORING! Our carpet has seen better days and we need to replace it in such a bad way. The total bill will be around $22,000 but with a previous donation by MDU Resources and a matching donation by All Smiles Dental, we only need to raise $17,000. We can do this!

Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” If we all pitch in, we can take BAGA from shabby to chic!

Please help us out. Log onto Giving Hearts Day, enter your donation amount, then proceed to checkout. If you complete this process today, your donation will be processed on February 9th. And if you’d rather give by check, simply write “Giving Hearts Day” in the memo line and drop it in the mail, or stop by before Thursday, February 9.

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram (BAGABismarck) to watch upcoming videos with our match donor, All Smiles Dental.

Thank you for following us and supporting us throughout the year, but especially on Giving Hearts Day when we make BIG THINGS HAPPEN!
